Where do you go when you have one week off from Christmas to New Year? The closest, cheapest place you can get to (if cheap is even possible at this time of year). From Western Australia that is Bali, a pilgrimage that every resident seemingly takes on an annual basis. We had visited Bali and Lombok 9 years earlier (see that experience here) but we were keen to see a different side this time around. Splitting our time between the beaches and the mountains, we aimed to cram in as much action as we could in the short amount of time (while trying not to melt in the relentless humidity).
